Fundamentals: The Intro to CrossFit
CrossFit Nyack Fundamentals is a 6 session program that introduces you to the foundational primary movements employed in our group classes. Our 6 class Fundamentals model also provides you with the technique and skill necessary for proper execution of such movements, minimizing the risk of injury and maximizing your results. All new athletes are required to successfully complete this program, attending a 6 sessions, before entering group classes.
Our Fundamentals Package includes a two week, complimentary unlimited class membership immediately following the completion of the 6 classes.
During Fundamentals, we will assess your athletic/physical conditioning and teach you the following:
- Mobility, dynamic stretching and warm up
- The foundational movements of CrossFit and strength training (i.e., squats, dead lifts, Olympic lifts)
- Mono-structural movements (i.e., rowing, running, jumping)
- Form and execution for standard movements (i.e., pushup, pull up, etc.)
Fundamental classes are scheduled every month (click on Fundamentals Schedule for more info). We make these classes mandatory and a prerequisite to regular CrossFit class in an effort to teach proper technique for maximized results and injury prevention. Once there is consistency of proper technique, you are able to enter a high intense environment which is what CrossFit Class offers. In the event that you or your coach deems it necessary for further correction/instruction/preparation before integrating into CrossFit class, there are additional private coaching sessions available.
Fundamentals classes are included in your first month’s unlimited CrossFit membership ($175.00). If you are unable to attend one or more of the 6 Fundamental classes, you will be required to make it up privately with a CrossFit coach for an extra fee ($60 per session).
We do offer Private Fundamentals (one on one) sessions for an additional rate (see below). The Private Fundamentals sessions can be completed in 5 sessions effectively, due to their one on one nature. Enrolling in Private Fundamentals would function in lieu of taking the 6 group Fundamentals classes. Please see our rate sheet below.
Fundamentals (includes first month’s CrossFit membership): $175
Single Private Fundamentals Session: $60
Private Fundamentals (does not include complimentary CrossFit membership): $225
Private CrossFit (per session): $50 per half hour / $75 per hour
Private CrossFit (packages): $500 for 10-1/2 hr sessions
$400 for 5-1 hr sessions / $750 for 10- 1 hr sessions
